I am an incoming Assistant Professor in the department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Dallas. My primary research interests are at the intersection of Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, with a focus on Testing of Software Systems and AI Models to make them robust, reliable, and safe.
I am about to finish my PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, advised by August Shi. I design and build tools that make large-scale software and AI systems more reliable and easier to test. My research prioritizes practical applicability—ensuring innovations are not only efficient in theory, but also usable and reliable in practice. I've developed tools such as: FlakyLens (OOPSLA2'25), a fine-tuned LLM that classifies flaky tests by root cause and explains the LLM's prediction, FlakeSync (ICSE'24), an automated approach to repair async flaky tests; and UTFix (OOPSLA1'25), an LLM-powered system for change-aware unit test repair.
I am seeking bright, motivated PhD students to work with on projects related to my research interests. If you are interested to work with me, please email me.
